A 14-year-old student was detained after shooting and injuring his middle school principal and teacher with a hunting rifle hidden in his guitar case at Joseph-Lakanal Middle School in Aubagne. The student fired multiple shots on the first and second floors, injuring the victims in the legs, before being disarmed by staff and taken into custody. A third person was grazed in the shooting, and the victims are not in critical condition. France’s Education Minister condemned the act as an unacceptable rise in violence.
