Jean-Paul Rappeneau, a 94-year-old French director, passed away on September 1 in Paris. He is known for his adaptation of 'Cyrano de Bergerac,' which won ten César awards in 1991. Rappeneau also directed popular films such as 'La Vie de château' and 'Le Hussard sur le toit.' In addition to his film career, he served as vice-president of the Cinémathèque française and chaired the jury of the International Police Film Festival in Beaune in 2017.
