Marjane Satrapi, French-Iranian author and filmmaker, died at 56 from 'sadness' a year after her husband Mattias Ripa's passing. Best known for her graphic novel Persepolis, President Macron praised her as a leading figure in French culture. Born in Iran in 1969, she left after the Islamic revolution and moved to France in 1994.
