Freyja: the interceptor wanted by Zelensky for Europe five times cheaper than the American Patriot – La Nouvelle Tribune

Ukrainian company Fire Point unveiled on July 13 in Paris the Freyja interceptor missile, capable of shooting down a ballistic target for about $700,000, five times cheaper than a Patriot PAC-3. A test flight with trajectory correction was successful, reaching a speed of 2,000 m/s and an altitude of 20 km. A coalition of ten countries, including Ukraine, France and Germany, was formed at the Hôtel des Invalides to develop the system, with components from Diehl Defence, Saab, Hensoldt, Kongsberg and others. President Zelensky compared the project to a Lego assembly of European know-how.
