Since October 5, Israeli settlers have besieged Yousef Shanaran’s home in Wadi Rakhim in the South Hebron Hills around the clock. His family cannot leave freely or reach the well he built, and the Israeli army only allowed them to collect water on Tuesday after five days of coordination. Shanaran said about 50 settlers attacked his family with sticks and pepper spray after moving their tent to within 30 metres of the house. Nasser Nawajeh, head of the Susiya village council, said attempts to bring supplies were obstructed by settlers and described the siege as a displacement policy.
