Inter and AC Milan unveil plans for new stadium to replace San Siro

Inter and AC Milan unveiled the Generali Stadium, which is set to replace San Siro from the 2031/32 season. Designed by Norman Foster and David Manica, the 71,500-seat venue will bring spectators close to the pitch and feature a roof designed to amplify the fans’ roar. The clubs paid 197 million euros for the current stadium and adjacent parking areas, while the new project will cost 1.2 billion euros; construction is scheduled to begin in 2028. San Siro, which opened in 1926, will be largely demolished as the new stadium nears completion.

Authorities also intend the sites to serve as spaces for inclusion, community interaction and the development of Senegalese sporting talent.
