Fuel Subsidy: Nigeria’s pricing model must change - Gov Makinde

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has called for a reevaluation of Nigeria's petroleum pricing system, stating that the debate should no longer be limited to whether fuel subsidies should be removed or restored. He emphasized the need for greater transparency regarding the components that determine petrol prices, including refining costs and taxes. Makinde also rejected the argument that higher prices were necessary to discourage smuggling into neighboring countries.
