Funeral: Former minister Alphonse Djédjé Mady to be buried on November 14, full program

Former Ivorian minister and urology professor Alphonse Djédjé Mady, who died on August 23, 2026, will be buried in his native village of Gazehio on November 14. The funeral program begins with condolences at his Bonoumin home from November 1 to 3, followed by traditional, party, academic and religious vigils in Yopougon, Bonoumin and Cocody. After the body is taken from the Plateau on November 12 and tributes are held in Gazehio, a requiem mass will precede his burial in the family vault. A former president of the MEECI, he served as health minister from 1981 to 1989 under Félix Houphouët-Boigny.
