South Africa: Tinubu Takes Fight Against Xenophobic, Afrophobic Attacks By South Africa to AU

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu formally lodged a complaint with the African Union regarding xenophobic and Afrophobic attacks in South Africa, emphasizing that they undermine the continent's solidarity and unity. He requested that this issue be placed on the agenda for the 40th Ordinary Session of the Assembly scheduled for January 2027. Tinubu also called for stronger continental efforts to combat xenophobia and supported the adoption of the Luanda Action Plan for conflict prevention.
