At least 26 killed in clashes along Sudan-South Sudan border region

At least 26 people have been killed and 82 others injured in intercommunal fighting in the disputed Abyei region between Sudan and South Sudan. The violence erupted in response to separate killings of a Ngok Dinka man and a Misseriya man. The UN Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) has reinforced its security presence and is urging dialogue between the rival communities to prevent further loss of life.
