Gambia protests grow chaotic as power outages worsen

Thousands took to the streets in Banjul and other cities, burning tires and calling for President Adama Barrow's resignation due to power outages that have persisted since June. These outages, lasting up to 48 hours, coincide with the country's hot season. Barrow described the situation as a "national security issue" and promised urgent measures, while the NAWEC director cited climate change and war in the Middle East as contributing factors.
