Gas in Nigeria: $800 Million to Exploit a Deposit Discovered in 1973 – La Nouvelle Tribune

The Ima gas project off Nigeria has announced a final investment decision of $800 million to develop a gas deposit discovered in 1973 in offshore blocks OML 112 and 117. Led by AMNI International (60%) and TotalEnergies (40%), the project aims for a production capacity of up to 350 million cubic feet per day, expected to start in 2028. The field, which has been producing oil since 1996, contains approximately 1.28 TCF of non-associated gas reserves, and its development will supply about one-third of the gas needed for Nigeria LNG's Train 7 expansion project.
