General Census: Launch of the Mapping Phase in Kinshasa

The mapping phase of the second General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH-2) started on September 28, 2026, in Kinshasa, overseen by State Minister Guylain Nyembo. For one month, cartographers will survey neighborhoods to identify households, buildings, and infrastructure in preparation for the census scheduled for July 2027. This step follows the training of 1,868 cartographers and is a significant milestone for the DRC, 42 years after the last census in 1984.
