Geneva: At the WTO, the DRC presents its trade reforms and calls to promote local products

The Democratic Republic of the Congo advocated for the development of initiatives promoting local products during the 2026 WTO Public Forum in Geneva. Minister of Foreign Trade, Julien Paluku, emphasized the importance of strengthening the productive sovereignty of vulnerable economies in the face of global supply chain disruptions. He also presented reforms to clean up the extractive sector and modernize the business climate, including the digitization of customs procedures.
