United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, expressed concern about the absence of women in peace processes during the 63rd session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. He emphasized that despite their historical contributions to peace processes, women remain underrepresented in current negotiations, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gaza, Sudan, and Ukraine. Türk announced that his office will strive to increase their participation and role in these processes.
