Germany says Russia behind Leipzig airport drone attack

Germany has stated that Russia was responsible for the drone attack at Leipzig Airport on August 4. A drone carrying an explosive device was found near Ukrainian cargo planes but failed to detonate due to a faulty detonator. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt noted that the attack followed a pattern of Russian hybrid operations in Europe, while Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul announced the closure of the Russian consulate in Bonn.
