The Bank of Ghana requires banks to reduce their non-performing loan ratio to a maximum of 10% by the end of December 2026. The ratio of non-performing loans decreased from 20.77% in August 2025 to 15.66% in August 2026 but remains 5.66 points above the prudential limit.
