Ghana rejects $109 million from Trump to protect citizens' health data

Ghana has terminated negotiations with Washington over a $109 million health agreement after refusing to submit its citizens' medical data to U.S. requirements. This decision ends discussions that began in November 2025, as the U.S. side adopted a hostile stance following Ghana's refusal. Other African countries, such as Zambia and Zimbabwe, have also rejected similar conditions imposed by Washington.
