Ghost workers contribute to wage bill of N400m out of allocation of N450m - Avweromre

Lucky Avweromre, the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Council, stated that only staff verification can save the council from its financial crisis. The council spends about N400 million monthly on salaries, which is a significant portion of its N450 million allocation. Avweromre expressed hope that the verification exercise will weed out ghost workers and reduce the wage burden.
