Gikomba Traders Protest High Costs at New Market Stalls After Relocation

Traders at Gikomba Market are protesting high fees imposed by the government following their relocation. Around 2,000 of the more than 6,000 relocated traders claim that the Ksh5,000 fee for small stalls and nearly Ksh1,000 for security are straining their operations. Many traders are seeking alternative, cheaper locations, while market management has warned against unauthorized fees and promised a transparent verification process for stall allocation.
