GITEX Africa 2026: Africa’s Largest Data Center in Dakhla to Propel Morocco’s Digital Sovereignty

Morocco's Minister for Digital Transition, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, announced the launch of technical studies for the construction of Igouda, Africa's largest data center in Dakhla. The project is expected to reach a capacity of 500 megawatts by 2030 and will be powered entirely by renewable energy, cooled with water from the Atlantic Ocean. The minister also emphasized Morocco's willingness to share its expertise in artificial intelligence with other African countries.
