Côte d'Ivoire has set a gold production target for 2035 to surpass Mali and Burkina Faso, the current leaders in West Africa. Minister of Mines, Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly, emphasized the need to diversify mining revenues, as national gold production has already increased by 150% between 2015 and 2024. The Lafigué mine, operated by Endeavour Mining, is expected to contribute to this growth by raising production to approximately 62 tons in 2025.
