Gombe parties sign peace accord ahead of elections

Five political parties in Gombe State signed a peace accord to ensure peaceful conduct during upcoming elections. The accord, signed at the Gombe Police Command headquarters, commits the parties to conduct their campaigns lawfully and to avoid violence and intimidation. They also agreed to comply with Nigerian laws, including the Electoral Act 2026, and to provide 48 hours' notice before any political gathering.
