Gov Adeleke sets up panel to investigate Ikire killings, violence

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued an Executive Order establishing a panel to investigate the killings and violence that occurred in Ikire on August 24, 2026. Two people were killed and three police officers injured during an attempted takeover of a motor park by thugs. The panel, chaired by Magistrate Ayokunle Shiyanbola, will examine the circumstances surrounding the incident and may recommend disciplinary measures and institutional reforms.
