Gov Makinde crowns three Ibadan chiefs Obas in their absence

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State promoted three High Chiefs in Ibadanland to Obas in their absence, marking a first in Yorubaland's history. The three chiefs, Ekeerin Balogun, Akeem Adewoyin, and Kola Babalola, declined the invitation to the coronation ceremony. Despite their absence, the governor, represented by Deputy Adebayo Lawal, pronounced them Obas at the event. The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, was also absent but represented by Balogun Tajudeen Ajibola.
