Gov Nwifuru warns kinsmen against selling ancestral lands, graves

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State warned the Izhi Nnodo clan against the indiscriminate sale of ancestral lands, family compounds, and burial grounds during the Ojiji Izhi New Yam Festival. He emphasized the importance of preserving these lands for future generations and called for the protection of cultural heritage. Nwifuru also cautioned against confusing religion with tradition, stressing the need to uphold values such as respect for elders and communal responsibility.
