Gov Otu loses three senior administration officials in three years

Three key officials of Governor Bassey Otu’s government, including two serving commissioners and the head of a key parastatal, have died during his first term. The Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Eka Williams Abang, died in Abuja after slumping. Abubakar Robert Ewa, the tourism commissioner, died on January 8, 2025, and Prince Ojoi Ekpenyong Uguana, Managing Director of the Cross River State Tourism Bureau, passed away in June 2026.
