On September 16, 2026, the Departmental Blood Transfusion Center was inaugurated in Grand-Bassam, attended by figures such as Health Minister Pierre Dimba. This facility aims to improve access to blood products and meet the growing transfusion needs. Pierre Dimba emphasized the importance of this initiative in reducing maternal mortality and ensuring the availability of blood products in hospitals. The cost of a blood bag is set at 3,000 FCFA, while the donor's reward is 2,000 FCFA.
