Greater Lomé: New Clearance Operation Scheduled for November 2–20

The Autonomous District of Greater Lomé (DAGL) plans to clear public roads from November 2 to 20, 2026, across the district’s 13 municipalities. Announced at a meeting of the district’s consultation framework on October 15, the operation will target stalls, kiosks and garages unlawfully occupying paved and asphalt roads. Authorities aim to improve urban mobility, but will also need to monitor cleared areas, where structures have returned despite previous operations.
