Guédiawaye: Doctor S. F. Seck has undergone surgery, but the bullet is still in his abdomen, Dr. Gning says

Serigne Fallou Seck, a 27-year-old medical intern shot at his home in Fith-Mith, Guédiawaye, has undergone successful surgery and is no longer in a life-threatening condition. Dr. Gory Gning, president of Senegal’s Association of Hospital Interns and Former Interns, said the bullet has not yet been removed from Seck’s abdomen. This is delaying a forensic ballistic examination ordered by the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor’s office to establish where the shot came from. According to reports, Seck was hit as he tried to close his kitchen window and take shelter from violence linked to the Navétanes.

To increase national funding, he called for more efficient spending, stronger domestic revenue mobilization—the region’s tax-to-GDP ratio is below 15%, compared with a recommended 20%—and partnerships with the private sector, development partners and civil society. An additional $81 million in financing for Togo was approved in December 2025.
