Guinea-Bissau votes 'yes' in referendum on new Constitution

Voters in Guinea-Bissau approved a constitutional reform granting more powers to the president, as announced by the electoral commission. The referendum took place less than ten months after a military coup and just months before the presidential election scheduled for December 6. Guinea-Bissau joins other African countries modifying their constitutions to strengthen executive powers.
