How four artists are reimagining migration, identity and belonging in Cape Town
The 2026 Nando’s Creative Exchange exhibition Tiriparwendo brings together work by Bekezela Mabena, Luxolo Theophilus Witvoet, Mpumelelo Samantha Maseko and Viola Greyling at Cape Town’s Hub Gallery from November 12, 2026, to January 22, 2027. Through ceramics, painting, photography-inspired imagery and mixed media, the artists examine migration, identity, memory and the search for belonging. Their subjects range from undocumented migration and Black South Africans’ movement from rural areas to cities to emotional ties with places left behind. Greyling, 30, explores home, longing and putting down roots in a new environment through wall-based and three-dimensional ceramic works.
