Ebola in DRC: 'The peak is behind us in Ituri, but the slope remains upward in North Kivu' (Jean-Jacques Muyembe)

Jean-Jacques Muyembe, director of the INRB, announced that the epidemic peak of the Ebola virus disease is now behind us in Ituri, while the situation remains concerning in North Kivu with an upward trend in cases. During a press briefing, he explained that the peak refers to the phase where cases reach a plateau before decreasing. Currently, Ituri is on a downward slope, while North Kivu has not yet reached its plateau and continues to record a high number of cases.
