Hadja Haoua case: Association calls for investigation into her disappearance and reported death

The Association for the Defence of the Rights of the Oppressed (ADDO), led by Hassana Tchiroma, has filed a complaint against unknown persons and is calling for an investigation into Hadja Haoua’s disappearance, reported in July 2025, and the announcement of her death in N’Djamena. In a letter dated October 29, 2026, addressed to Paul Biya, the association raises the possibility of a kidnapping followed by murder and asks authorities to establish where she disappeared and how her death was confirmed. It also requests that her remains be handed over to her family for burial if her death is confirmed. The appeal follows an earlier request made on September 14 and a tribute published by lawyer Alice Nkom on October 26.
