Haiti: Assassination of Jovenel Moïse, 18 suspects extradited to the USA

Eighteen suspects accused of participating in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse in 2021 have been extradited to the United States. They will be tried in Florida, where the southern district is believed to have served as a base for the plot. Among the suspects is Joseph Badio, a former employee of the Haitian Ministry of Justice, along with 17 Colombian soldiers. Moïse was killed on July 7, 2021, by foreign mercenaries, and the trial in Haiti has been hindered by gang violence.
