Haiti: Prime minister thanks El Salvador for its support

Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé thanked Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele for El Salvador’s support in the fight against gangs. More than 2,000 Salvadoran soldiers have arrived in Haiti to support a mission connected to the search for four soldiers missing from a UN-backed force. Speaking in Port-au-Prince, Fils-Aimé said the government’s priorities are restoring security and holding credible elections. He stressed that Haiti retains political and strategic responsibility for the fight, while international forces are there to strengthen its capabilities.
