Haiti urges Gang Suppression Force deployment as killings surge

Haiti has called for the full deployment of the UN Security Council-backed Gang Suppression Force to combat armed gangs and restore public safety. Pierre Ericq Pierre, Haiti’s Permanent Representative to the UN, condemned the recent violence in Kenscoff, where at least 47 people were killed and over 52 kidnapped. He also requested international support to strengthen the arms embargo and train new military personnel.
