Haut-Katanga: IRDH and Justicia Asbl demand the release of opposition member John Mbangu

John Mbangu, provincial coordinator of the youth for Ensemble pour la République, has been detained since Friday at the National Intelligence Agency (ANR) in Lubumbashi. Human rights defenders Hubert Tshiswaka and Timothée Mbuya believe his arrest is politically motivated and are calling for his release. They also express concern over a potential transfer to Kinshasa, stating that any charges should be addressed by a competent judge.
