Haut-Uele: 22 Ebola survivors including a doctor and nurses leave the treatment center in Isiro

Twenty-two survivors of the Ebola virus disease, including a doctor and three nurses, left the treatment center in Isiro on September 7. Dr. Gilbert Malango praised these survivors as heroes and thanked the government and response partners, particularly WHO and UNICEF. Provincial Health Minister Afounde Sumbu encouraged the survivors to raise awareness in their communities about the possibility of recovery from the disease. The Isiro health zone has recorded nearly thirty survivors since the outbreak began, which has resulted in 253 confirmed cases in the Haut-Uele province.
