Havana slams new Trump sanctions as ‘collective punishment’ of Cuban people

The Cuban government has rejected new sanctions imposed by US President Donald Trump, calling them ‘unilateral coercive measures’ aimed at inflicting ‘collective punishment’ on the Cuban people. Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez stated that these measures violate the United Nations Charter and that the US has no right to impose sanctions against Cuba. The sanctions target individuals and groups supporting Cuban security forces, as well as those involved in human rights abuses.
