‘He left an indelible mark on me’ — Kelani mourns Olu Jacobs

Filmmaker Tunde Kelani paid tribute to the late veteran actor Olu Jacobs, describing him as a founding patriarch of modern Nigerian screen performance. Kelani recalled their first meeting in 1978 at the London Film School, where Jacobs agreed to lead a student production without asking for a fee, only requesting meals during the shoot. He also praised Jacobs for his courage in leaving a successful career in Britain to contribute to the emerging Nollywood industry in Nigeria.
