Health Ministry Clarifies SHA Portal Transition to HMIS

The Ministry of Health clarified the transition from the Social Health Authority (SHA) Provider Portal to the Health Management Information System (HMIS), addressing confusion about replacing SHA. The move aims to integrate hospital systems with SHA and other health platforms, not to replace the authority itself. The transition is expected to reduce data entry duplication, improve processing of patient admissions, consultations, billing, and claims, and provide healthcare workers with easier access to patient information. The ministry emphasized that HMIS is part of an existing digital health infrastructure intended to connect different healthcare components.
