Heavy rains in Dakar: BRT reduces route, only two districts are currently served

Heavy rains on October 4 in Dakar, reaching up to 72 mm in Mbao, forced Sunu BRT to restrict its service to only the districts of Sacré-Cœur and Petersen, making access to the city center difficult for many commuters. Several neighborhoods such as Sangalkam, Yeumbeul Sud, Mbao, Keur Massar, and Yoff were flooded, with water invading streets and homes, causing overflow of retention basins and material damage. Normal service will resume once water levels decrease, and residents are advised to avoid low-lying areas and follow authorities' instructions.
