Troops of Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West’s Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued nine kidnapped people and recovered 108 animals—34 cows and 74 rams—in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, Kebbi State. After a distress call reported abductions and livestock theft, soldiers engaged suspected bandits, who fled and abandoned their captives. Two victims, Barbuga Bawashe, 26, and Barka Dakaji, 61, were rescued in that operation; seven others, including children aged 10 to 14, escaped their captors in Sabon Tunga and Binoni. The nine victims were handed over to the District Head of Unashi to reunite with their families.

Benue: Gunmen kill pastor and three others, injure eight in Logo attack

Four people, including Pastor Terungwa Tyonungo, were killed and eight injured when suspected armed herders attacked Abeda Shitile in Gaambe-Tiev, Benue State. The gunmen opened fire at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday as traders and residents were leaving the market, operating for more than two hours between the Ikyô Tor Dukur area and the motor park on Afia Road. Those killed were identified as Msoo Chan, Terungwa Tyonungo, Suurshater Iornumbe and Dodo Shingir; the eight injured people are receiving treatment at a local health facility. The Benue State Police Command had not commented by the time the report was filed.
