Homes drive record-high electricity sales on increased connections

Kenya Power's electricity sales reached a record high in the year ending June 2026, with households accounting for half of the additional 1,374 Gigawatt-hours (GWh) sold. Electricity sales to homes grew by 19% to 4,327 GWh, marking the fastest growth among Kenya Power's four consumer categories. Overall, the utility's total unit sales increased by 12% to 12,777 GWh.
