Households enrolled in family security grants will receive more money

The Senegalese government plans to double the budget for family security grants starting in 2027, increasing it from 70 to 140 billion CFA francs. Minister of Economy Cheikh Diba announced that the number of beneficiary families will rise from 500,000 to over one million. This initiative aims to strengthen the protection of vulnerable populations and improve the identification of households in need. Payments for the grants are expected to occur between late September and November, ahead of the school year.
