Only State Police Bill transmitted to states, National Assembly clarifies

The National Assembly clarified that only one Constitution Alteration Bill has been transmitted to the 36 State Houses of Assembly. This Bill, titled 'A Bill for an Act to Alter the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 to Provide for the Establishment of State Police Services,' was announced on September 16. Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, emphasized that other Constitution Alteration Bills will be transmitted after their passage by both chambers.
