Senegal: Patrick Vieira set to call up his 12th new player already!

After Mamadou Sarr withdrew with a left calf injury sustained at Real Sociedad, Patrick Vieira is expected to call up Massiré Sylla for Senegal’s two matches against Sudan on November 12 and 16 in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The 21-year-old centre-back plays for Union Saint-Gilloise and has reportedly impressed the coaching staff with 16 starts in 17 matches, one goal and two assists. Trained at Diambars, Sylla can also play at either side of central defence or as a defensive midfielder. If confirmed, his call-up would make him the 12th new player to join Senegal’s squad since Vieira took charge.
