Nigerian presidential advisor Sunday Dare stated that the withdrawal of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger from ECOWAS has weakened regional integration and created difficulties for cooperation in West Africa. He emphasized that this break has facilitated the emergence of the Sahel States Alliance (AES) and weakened economic integration protocols. Dare also asserted that Nigeria keeps its borders open while calling for appropriate control of movements at entry points.
