Lagos govt urges abattoir operators to turn waste into wealth

The Lagos State Government has intensified its campaign against environmental pollution by urging abattoir operators to embrace waste recovery. At a workshop, Permanent Secretary Dr. Gaji Tajudeen emphasized the importance of abattoirs to the food supply chain and warned of pollution risks from poor waste management. The workshop aimed to promote waste-to-wealth initiatives, transforming by-products like blood and fecal matter into biogas and organic fertilizer.
